About

Callie Atkinson is from Fort Myers, Fl where she was fortunate to grow up in a growing city that offered a plethora of Arts. Her passion for performing started at a very young age from visiting Disney frequently. She loved putting on shows and recreating Disney movies for anyone that was willing to watch her.  Her mom says she started "singing" as soon as she realized she had a voice. Her favorite Disney show creations were Pocahantas, Colors of the Wind, and Little Mermaid, Part of Your World, which she would sing on repeat in the tub or pool.

At age 10, she started losing her hair. Within 3 months she had lost 75% of her hair and after months of misdiagnosis and a lot of testing she was diagnosed with Alopecia Areata. As a 4th/5th grader this was difficult emotionally. She tried hiding it with wide headbands, bandanas, and finally wigs. Living in Florida and being an active kid, wearing wigs is HOT! On April 14th of her 5th grade year, she shared with her class what was happening to her and stopped wearing wigs on that day!  Alopecia never goes away, but from 2015-2020 her hair was growing really well. But then again in 2020 she’s suffered great hair loss and various spots of patchiness/thinning. In March of 2022 she had so much loss and thinning it just made sense to shave her head. By doing this she was hopeful for new growth and the freedom to be able to wear wigs when new spots come up or the growth isn't consistent. This is why you may see multiple looks or different hairstyles.

She started performing in SouthWest Florida community theater at the age of 6 before booking her first professional show at Broadway Palm Dinner Theatre in Annie at age 11. She was active in theater, dance and vocal classes in elementary, middle and high school. During middle and high school she participated in her school’s performances each year and continued to work professionally at Broadway Palm during holiday and summer shows. She attended Cypress Lake High School Center for the Arts as a Theatre Major, but was also very involved in the Vocal Department as part of their A Cappella group, TAG (The A Cappella Group). During her 4 years in TAG she was a lead vocalist. Her group recorded 4 albums, won regional honors each year, competed at Nationals 2 years in a row, and were recognized Internationally.

After high school she attended one year of college at Manhattan School of Music where she got to train and learn from incredible instructors and guest artists: Steven Schwartz, Dee Hoty, and Bebe Neuwirth just to name a few.

At 19 she booked her first cruise ship contract working for Royal Caribbean. She was lucky enough to travel all through the Baltic and Mediterranean while building up and focusing on her vocal technique. Since her initial hiring she's worked 4 cruise contracts as a Girl 1

She moved to New York City in March of 2022 where she started workshopping new production shows for RWS Entertainment. Getting to work with choreographer/directors like Dylan Pearce, Charlie Sutton and Chip Abbott. With RWS she has also completed multiple weeks of background vocal studio recordings for their production show needs. While in NYC she has also performed with Michael Anthony Theatrical Productions in "Lights.. Camera.. Broadway" , "Good and Evil: The Music of Dracula and Jekyll and Hyde and "Jukebox Broadway."

She most recently finished her time on the 23/24 National Tour of Annie The Musical as the Universal Swing and Dance Captain! She performed in 61 shows across the USA, Canada and even China!

In Callie's free time you can most likely find her listening to podcasts, working out, styling new wigs or pretending she is a masterchef in the kitchen! She loves creating and collaborating with people on new and familiar projects and may try to break out in the realm of social media. Callie is working to make all her dreams come true!
